    3. Injuries Due to Consumption of Alcohol: Expenses arising out of or attributable to alcohol or drug use/misuse/abuse.
    4. Transmitted Diseases: Medical expenses incurred for the treatment of AIDS and other transmitted diseases.
    5. Pregnancy Treatment: Treatment arising from or traceable to pregnancy and childbirth, miscarriage, abortion, and its consequences.
    6. Infertility Treatment: Tests and Treatment relating to infertility and in vitro fertilization cannot be claimed.
    7. Congenital Diseases: Expenses incurred for the congenital disease are also not covered under health insurance policies. These are the diseases or disabilities that occur by birth. 
    8. Permanent Exclusions: War, riot, strike, and nuclear weapons induced hospitalization are considered as permanent exclusions.
    9. Cosmetic Surgery: Plastic surgery, cosmetic treatment and implant are also not covered under an insurance policy.

    Anyone having valid residency status can take an annual medical Policy in Oman.

    Anyone below 65 years can buy a medical policy. For over-age the proposal is subject to satisfactory additional underwriting.

    Pandemic is excluded in medical policy, but to support the citizens and residents the CMA and Insurance companies have come forward and CMA has issued following circular to deal with covid-19 related medical treatments.

    The circular addressed to insurers included directives to cover the cost of treatment of insured infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) within the limits of the insurance available in their respective policies when they receive treatment in any private hospital. The insurers would rely on the prices' lists and treatment procedures approved by the Ministry of Health. Any charges above the approved price list of ministry to be borne by insured's sponsor.

    The Unified Policy applicable in Oman sets out in the claims settlement annexure and basis of depreciation that calculation of total loss in comprehensive and compulsory insurance is by calculating the depreciation starting from the first month at 1.25% for each passing month and 15% at the end of the first year, 28% at the end of the second year, 38% at the end of the third year and 48% at the end of fourth year and so on until the fourteenth year.

    With cash loss settlement, you get a percentage of the estimated claim amount without your vehicle actually getting repaired. But this entitles your insurer to cancel your comprehesive policy or coverting it to Third party coverage only.

    For treatment of cancer; facility is available in SULTAN QABOOS UNIVERSITY. However for follow up / chemotherapy the facility is available in many hospitals including BURJEEL HOSPITAL

    1. Immediately take the photographs of accident site and both the vehicles with registration numbers clearly visible.
    2. Exchange the copies of Mulkiya ( Registration Card) and Driving License
    3. Complete the MRTA form ( Minor Road Traffic Accident Form) and have your own copy with the faulty party signature.  You should always carry a copy of blank MRTA form all times in your car.
    4. Faulty party will go the insurance company and give the intimation of accident.  The Insurance company will register the claim and will give Gate Pass for your car to relevant garage
    5. All repair will be paid by the Faulty Party Insurance Company
    6. The Deductible / Excess, if any will be paid by the faulty party
    7. You can get the car repaired and take it without any payment.
